Logging Lists

In settings you will find the logging lists on the second tab.

For cars with the high speed logging patch you may need to reset your logging list in order to see the correct data.

You have the multiple options such as;

Import a custom list, Reset to the default list, Export your list or Edit your list all within Simos Tools.

ECU HSL

You can select your default list based on your box code.

Common box codes would be;

5G0906259L / 8V0906259K / 8V0906259P / 8V0906259J / 5G0906259H - S508V0906259F / 5G0906259F / 8V0906264H - O305G0906259C / 8S0906259 / 8S0906259B - LB68X0906259 / 5G0906259E - H658V0906259R / 5G0906259S - A108V0906259Q / 5G0906259Q - A0506K0906071T / 06K0906071P / 06K0907115B - V30

Mode22 Logging

Mode22 logging is reading the PID's that are broadcast on CAN provided by VAG group. It is the same data you might be able to record with OBD11 or VCDS. The advantage that Simos Tools has is the frame rate and quantity of variables we can read. It also has some nice conversions and calculations to give a better insight.

HSL Logging

HSL logging requires an ECU patch. This is available for certain software versions based on the assembly code. What this offers is complete RAM variable logging giving you an even greater insight into the functions within the control unit. Using this logger requires a CSV that is specific to your version. It is reccomended only for advanced users.

DSG Logging

DSG logging has some basic variables set up. It allows you to see what torque the gearbox is seeing at the wheels. The maximum is often very high due to wheel spin. You can record this data at the same time as the ECU.
