Ramair Oversized K03 / K04 Induction Kit | Product Review
As part of the upgrade package fitted to our Edition 30 MK5 Golf GTI we have included the Ramair Oversized JSK Induction Kit. This kit is designed to maximise airflow by replacing the restrictive standard factory air box. With a 90mm diameter leading down to 70mm in order to ensure the factory MAF is kept happy.
The Edition 30 is equipped with the K04 turbo as standard which utilises a recirculation pipe which is fed back into the beautifully crafted aluminium pipework. For cars equipped with the K03 turbo a blanking kit is included. The kit itself includes all of the fittings and fixings required for an easy installation, it is a modular kit which you fit in sections. A large aluminium heat shield will help to keep the intake temps within a couple degrees of the ambient temperature.
What you really want to know is how it sounds, I am thrilled with the outcome. When you are properly on it the recirculation flutters with each gear change, from a full rev pull you hear the deep suction as the intake comes to life. The power comes through strong from our custom tune and it has been enhanced throughout the rev range since fitting the Ramair intake kit. But when you are just driving casually around town there aren't any overbearing noises from the intake.
